One of the best parts of having a dog is the family holidays like Christmas. Boomer’s first Christmas was certainly one of the best we’ve ever had.
Over the years we stuck a lot of tennis balls and dog treats in wrapping paper 
and watched in delight as Boomer rammed his nose into the present, not quite knowing how to open the present but smelling the bounty inside!
The ornaments on the Christmas tree were always a target for Boomer. If he was standing anywhere near the tree and started wagging his tail he would knock off the ornaments on the lowest part of the tree, so we learned not to hang any of the glass ornaments on the bottom! Also, if we hung any sort of stuffed ornament (like a small teddy bear) near the bottom, Boomer would bang his nose against it and perhaps take a bite and try and pull him off of the tree!

Boomer loved to help us pick out the tree as well. One year we bought a tree from Pastor Bob….
