Boomer also went on some excellent hiking trips with his grandfather, GrampaT. The picture above was our campground of preference: Hancock Campground on the Kangamacus Highway. We had a beautiful spot right next to the river!

Each night we would build a fire by the river and Boomer would usually find a ball in the woods and we would throw it to him over and over again. Here’s a picture of  our fire pit, taken from behind our tent.

We’d get up in the morning and have breakfast together at our picnic table, before we headed out to our day hikes.

On this particular day we went on two different hikes. The first hike was to one of the most popular waterfalls on the Kangamangus Highway: Sabbaday Falls.

After hiking Sabbaday Falls we hiked out and drove to Boulder Loop trail. The foliage was absolutely peak, and on this day when we got to the top there was somebody there that was able to take a picture of the three of us.

Then it was time to eat lunch. Boomer was extremely interested in our sandwiches, especially because I had cheese. He we clearly going to harass us until we gave him some, so I decided to put him at a distance from our lunch sandwiches until we finished making them. I grabbed a piece of cheese, walked him about 10 feet away from us, and said “sit”, and then I said “stay”. I went back to make my lunch and noticed what a beautiful picture it would be of him with the foliage in the background. So I took this picture………

I figured I would push my luck and try and zoom in and take another picture of him, and I ended up taking probably the all-time best picture that we have of him……..

Of course, he was starting to get really anxious with all of that food around, so I said “OK!”, and snapped this picture of him making a beeline to the lunch we were having…….

Apparently it was a magical day for photography! I took this great picture of my Dad admiring the view.
