A Girl and Her Dog

A Girl and Her Dog

Beckback One of the reasons for getting a family dog is for each child to look back on their youth and have great memories of that special pet that was part of their growing up years. We had hoped that once we got Boomer he would live until both kids were graduated from high school, which meant that he would be their dog for nearly all of their growing-up years, and he would be there for their return after they moved off to college.

He certainly lived long enough to see Becky’s high school graduation!  He was Becky’s special dog. He was a big hit at all of her birthday parties at the house. He would go out ice skating on the pond with her. He would go outside with her when she soaked in the hot tub. She would come down from her room and sit down on the floor and hold him and talk to him.

Perhaps one of his favorite things about Becky was all of the friends that she brought over to the Hambite house. Whether it was Tiffany, or Shannon, or Sara, they all loved Boomer, and he loved them. She called him “Muffin” and “Muffin-head”.

The picture below is a great picture that perfectly described how Becky felt about her dog.
