After leaving our tent at the base of Bond Cliff Trail, Matthew, Boomer and I had driven back for a baseball game and then returned for some more hiking.
One the way back to New Hampshire I decided to bring Matthew & Boomer to the Welsh-Dickey Loop trail, which offers beautiful views for only a little bit of climbing effort.
As we started to climb up the trail we found people that were willing to take a picture of the three of us. This picture is shown above.
The hike up had some pretty cool rocks, and the picture on the right shows Matthew and Boomer hiding in between them, with Boomer peeking his head around the corner.
As we got higher and higher, I kept taking pictures of Matthew and Boomer with more and more of the landscape showing behind them in the distance. We had forgotten Matthew’s hiking shorts, so he hiked in his pajamas until we bought some further up on route 93!
As we hiked down the trail, Boomer found the only patch of life that was left after the winter, and took the opportunity to roll in it! Once he was done, he did his usual “stand and shake” to get the dirt off of him!

It was a nice start to the day, but we still needed to drive up to Liberty Woods trailhead and hike back to our tent. We decided to forego the 5-miles-of-flat and hike on the other side of the Pemigewasset River…..
